Surrey road closures following fatal pedestrian collision

SURREY RCMP are advising the public of road closures following a fatal collision on 128 Street and 76 Avenue.

On Sunday, October 27 at approximately 2:45 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle collision in the 7600-block of 128 Street involving a pedestrian.  Despite lifesaving efforts, one person was declared deceased at the scene.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) is currently on scene and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called out.  The investigation is in the early stages and investigators are working to identify all factors that led to this fatality.

Currently, 128 Street is closed both northbound and southbound between 76 Avenue and 76A Avenue. Traffic in the surrounding areas has been impacted and drivers can expect significant delays. The closure will remain in effect for an undetermined amount of time while investigators process the scene.
