Bains was signed by the Vancouver Canucks to an entry level contract in March 2022.
Bains finally made his debut for the Vancouver Canucks last February against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.
Bains becomes the fourth player of Punjabi descent to play in the NHL after Jujhar Khaira, Robin Bawa and Manny Malholtra.
Bains’ dad, businessman Kuldip Bains, told The VOICE back in 2022 how thrilled he was when he received news that his son was being signed by the Vancouver Canucks to an entry level contract. He said: “It’s just amazing! I can’t believe this is happening! It’s great!’
He added: “I am very proud of him. He’s done an amazing job.”
He said Arshdeep has drive and determination and works hard.
“There’s nothing more special than playing on your home team,” he added. “So, he’s so happy that it happened here and he’s with the Canucks and he’s very excited about that.”
