THE City of Surrey’s Our City campaign reached a new milestone in 2025 with hundreds of residents participating in 140 neighbourhood projects, clean-ups and community events that helped beautify communities across Surrey.
“This year’s campaign highlights the incredible energy and commitment of Surrey residents working together to strengthen our community,” said Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke on Thursday. “From neighbourhood cleanups and block parties to creative beautification projects, people came together to make Surrey a more vibrant and connected place to live. On behalf of Council, thank you to everyone who helped make such a meaningful difference.”
Now in its third year, Our City continues to inspire civic pride and empower residents to help improve and beautify their communities. In 2025, over 100 clean-ups and events were organized by the community, and more than 700 participants took part in 34 Our City-led events, including clean-ups, learning opportunities and beautification activities—up from nearly 570 participants in 23 events in 2024. Volunteer engagement also reached new heights with 126 volunteers contributing over 450 hours of service.
The 2025 campaign launched with a community mural at Ted Kuhn Towers and concluded with a pop-up street barrier painting project with community members in City Centre in collaboration with the Youth Event Squad. Since its inception, Our City has supported about 300 neighbourhood improvement projects across Surrey—from mini sharing gardens and exchange libraries to beautification of fences and outdoor murals.
Neighbourhood Enhancement Grants, which provide up to $3,000 to support neighbourhood projects, clean-up kits, and other resources promoted through the Our City program are available throughout the year.
