THE City of Surrey and the Cloverdale Rodeo will welcome Surrey-born star Lisa Brokop, 2025 Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, for an exclusive concert with special guest Chase Varnes on November 24 at 7 p.m. in Shannon Hall at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.
“Lisa Brokop’s incredible career is a source of pride for Surrey,” Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke said on Tuesday. “Her story will inspire the next generation of country artists, and events like this showcase Cloverdale as a centre for music, culture, and community.”
Brokop, whose music career spans more than 30 years, returns to her hometown stage to celebrate this milestone in her career. Her concert supports key goals of the Surrey Music Strategy, launched in 2023 to nurture local talent, develop venues, and engage the community through music.
“The Cloverdale Rodeo is proud to shine a spotlight on homegrown talent like Lisa Brokop,” Cloverdale Rodeo president Kathy Sheppard said. “Her induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame is a milestone that deserves to be celebrated right here in
her hometown. We’re excited to host an event that connects the community through music and honours our local roots.”
The concert will feature Brokop’s most beloved hits alongside new acoustic material, offering fans an intimate, storytelling-driven experience. Opening the evening is 14-year-old Vancouver Island singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chase Varnes, whose
original music blends country warmth with pop clarity. Together, the performance highlights Surrey’s emerging and established musical talent and its thriving music scene.
