THERE was a shooting and a stabbing in Surrey on Sunday: a shooting at around 6 p.m. near 107A Avenue and King George Boulevard near the RCMP detachment and a stabbing at around 8 p.m. near the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre, just two blocks away, according to media reports.

The shooting victim reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries.
