A suspect has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a woman in the Joyce-Collingwood area of East Vancouver this weekend.

Tenzin Choigey, 46, is charged with one count of second-degree murder for the death of 26-year-old Roshnee Gurung, who was discovered deceased inside a house on Rupert Street after Vancouver Police responded to a 9-1-1 just before midnight on Friday, November 22.

Choigey is also charged with the aggravated assault of a 27-year-old man who sustained serious injuries in the incident.

He remains in custody.
