Suspect charged in Granville Street stabbing

A man has been charged following a Vancouver Police investigation into a stabbing in the Granville Entertainment District last week.

Vancouver Police responded just before 10 p.m. on July 22 to reports that a 32-year-old man had been stabbed in the back on Nelson Street near Hornby Street.

Officers arrived on scene immediately and provided first aid to the victim until paramedics took him to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no indication that the suspect and victim are known to each other.

Jeronimo Fuentes, 29, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault. He remains in custody until his next court appearance.
