Suspects shoot at Dawson Creek RCMP officers; two arrested, one on the run

ON Friday, January 17 at approximately 1 a.m., RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100-block of 119 Avenue in Dawson Creek. Multiple shots were fired at a residence and a suspect vehicle was seen speeding away from the location. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle leaving the area and attempted to conduct a stop. The suspects shot at the officers. Officers later found the suspect vehicle unoccupied and deployed a police service dog. Two suspects were located, arrested and remain in custody.

Police said a third suspect fled in a dark coloured mid-2000s GMC or Chevy pickup truck, which will have significant front-end damages from driving into a police car while evading arrest.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the truck and suspect. The suspect is described as:

* Approximately 5’8″
* Thin build
* Brown hair and eyes
* A tattoo down the right side of his neck along his hair line
* Tunnel piercings in ears

“Dawson Creek RCMP request that the public call 911 if they see this man or the vehicle and to not approach,” said Cpl. Brett Urano, BC RCMP spokesperson. “We are thankful that no one was injured this morning and are grateful for the public’s assistance thus far. We are continuing our investigation and ask any witnesses to please come forward if they have not yet spoken to an investigator.”
