Temple leader’s son’s house shot at in Surrey (Thursday night update)

AS many as 14 shots were fired at the house of the son of a temple president, who is also a businessman, in Surrey on Wednesday. The family owns a banquet hall.

When The VOICE’s phone calls to the president on Thursday morning were not returned, we contacted Surrey RCMP that issued a press release about two hours later that stated that they are investigating a report of shots fired at a residence in the early morning of Wednesday, December 27 in the 14900-block of 80 Avenue.

The RCMP said their officers responded at approximately 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday to a report of shots fired at that residence.

No one was injured during the incident, but the residence involved sustained damage consistent with bullet holes.

Police remained in the area, examining the scene, speaking with witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood for CCTV footage. The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has conduct of the investigation. Officers are still working to determine the motive of this incident.
