Tesla crashes into Richmond restaurant; RCMP seek information, dash cam footage

SHORTLY before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 27, frontline Richmond RCMP responded to the area of Westminster Highway and No. 3 Road after receiving multiple reports of a serious motor vehicle collision.

A dark coloured Tesla was found lodged in the front of a restaurant in the 6000-block of No. 3 Road.

A 46-year old woman from Burnaby was critically injured at the scene. She was inside of the business prior to the collision. As of October 30, her condition has been upgraded. The driver of the Tesla, a 20-year-old from Richmond, was uninjured.

Due to the location of this collision, the area was closed off for several hours while first responders attended.

Neither alcohol or drugs are considered factors in this collision.

The Richmond RCMP CCIT (Criminal Collision Investigation Team) has taken conduct of this investigation.
