RICHMOND RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault that occurred in northeast Richmond earlier this summer.

On June 28, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a woman was walking on Greenland Drive near No. 5 Road when she was approached by an unknown male riding a bicycle. During the interaction, the woman was assaulted before the suspect fled the area.

The suspect is described as: White male; approximately 30 to 40 years old; medium build; black hair; black moustache; wearing sunglasses; green T-shirt; grey shorts; and riding a bicycle.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of Greenland Drive and No. 5 Road between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on June 28 and who may have witnessed the incident or observed a cyclist matching the suspect’s description to contact police. Officers are also seeking dash camera, residential security camera, or other footage from the area that may assist the investigation.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen something unusual in the area, or who may have relevant video footage, to come forward and speak with investigators,” says Cpl. Melissa Lui, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Officer. “Even seemingly minor information could help advance this investigation.”
