Three-year sentence for man in Tim Hortons stabbing in Vancouver

VANCOUVER Police said on Wednesday that a Vancouver man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to jail this week following a random and unprovoked stabbing at a downtown Vancouver coffee shop.

David Morin, 28, pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated assault and received a three-year sentence in relation to the January 22 stabbing of a stranger inside the Tim Hortons at Harbour Centre.

Morin, who fled following the assault, was identified and arrested after Vancouver Police released security video and appealed to the public for help.
