Two arrested as IHIT investigates suspicious death in University Endowment Lands

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed to the University Detachment in the University Endowment Lands following a suspicious death.

On Wednesday, March 13 at approximately 11:42 p.m., the RCMP’s University Detachment responded to a call of a female in medical distress inside a residence in the 5400-block of Shortcut Road in the University Endowment Lands.

The female succumbed to her injuries. Two individuals, a man and a woman, were arrested on scene in relation to the murder. IHIT now has conduct of the investigation and is working closely in partnership with the University Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

IHIT is working to identify the victim, who is believed to be an adult woman associated to the residence.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “We are asking anyone with information to please come forward as soon as possible.”
