ON Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 6:10 p.m., West Vancouver Police, West Vancouver Fire and Rescue and BC Emergency Health Services attended the 400-block of Keith Road for a report of a collision that involved multiple injuries.
The driver, a female in her 60s, was leaving her residence by way of a shared driveway when she collided with a group of individuals who were attending a wedding at the adjacent property.
Despite the efforts of witnesses and emergency services who attempted to render lifesaving assistance, two females in their 60s were pronounced deceased at the scene. Another seven individuals including the driver were sent to the hospital, two with life-altering injuries, West Vancouver Police said.
Investigators from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) were called out and traffic was shut down for part of the evening as ICARS conducted their investigation.
Police said on Monday that the investigation was still in its early stages and their investigators were working hard to determine the cause of the collision.
