At 8:48 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle heading to Langley shot Memorial Hospital with two persons suffering from gunshot wounds. Police determined that these persons were associated to the shooting on 80th Avenue and all information was passed on to Surrey RCMP.

At 9:03 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a vehicle on fire in the 16500-block of Northview Crescent. Evidence suggests that this vehicle is associated to the shooting.

Surrey Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation into this matter. The investigation is still in its early stages and police are reviewing all available details to determine exactly what happened and what lead up to these events.

It is believed that this is a targeted event and the general public is not at risk. Police said 80th Avenue will be closed between Harvie Road and 188th Street for an unknown length of time.
