Vancouver City Hall and Burrard Bridge to be illuminated in colours of Indian flag on August 15

TO commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence Day, the cities of Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton will be illuminating public buildings and historic landmarks in the colours of the Indian national flag on the evening of Sunday, August 15, the Indian Consulate General in Vancouver said in a statement on Saturday.

In Vancouver:

* City Hall

* Burrard Bridge

In Calgary:

* McDougal Centre

* Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium

* Olympic Plaza

* Reconciliation Bridge

* Arts Commons

In Edmonton:

* Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium

The Consulate General states: “Go ahead and take photographs of as many of these locations as you can and upload on your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and hashtag #AmritMahotsav, #AzadKaAmritMahotsav and tag @cgivancouver.

“Email us your photos on cul.vancouver@mea.gov.in. The best three photos from each city will be given a prize and certificate.”
