Vancouver Coastal Health expanding first dose COVID-19 vaccination clinic capacity

VANCOUVER Coastal Health (VCH) announced on Monday that it is expanding COVID-19 vaccination appointment capacity at several of its sites and offering drop-in spots to support the ongoing delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations.

VCH strongly encourages eligible people in its region aged 12 and older, who haven’t received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, to book an appointment now or to drop in at one of its convenient locations for easy access to same-day appointments with managed wait times. These are for first doses only.

People aged 70 years of age and older (those born in 1951 or earlier) may attend a drop-in clinic, listed below, for first or second doses.

All are welcome at the clinics, including those without personal health numbers and people who are not residents of B.C. Staff will be available on site to help people register and book appointments at other clinics throughout the region if needed, and can help answer all vaccine-related questions.

For people who are now eligible for second doses, appointments at all other clinics are available through the provincial online platform or call centre after residents register for a COVID-19 vaccine at www.gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated.

For people living in Metro Vancouver with transportation or mobility challenges, VCH is working with community groups, housing societies and transportation providers (TransLink, HandyDART and BC Transit) to assist getting to and from a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Requests for transportation support must be made at least three days in advance of your vaccination appointment. To request transportation support, visit: http://www.vch.ca/vaccinationtransportation.

Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place at all Vancouver Coastal Health COVID-19 vaccination clinics. Visitors are reminded to wear a short-sleeve shirt as the vaccine will be delivered to the upper arm. Everyone receiving a vaccine will be monitored for 15 minutes following their appointment.
