VANCOUVER Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in East Vancouver.

A woman in her 80s was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing at Nanaimo Street and East Hastings around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver did not remain on scene.

Vancouver Police located the suspected hit-and-run vehicle and a suspect was taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing. Witnesses or drivers with dash-cam video of the collision are asked to contact VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
