Vancouver Police arrest suspect in West End stranger attack

VANCOUVER Police announced on Thursday that they have arrested a suspect in connection to the stranger attack in the West End last Saturday night.

“Investigators are pleased with the help they have received from the public in identifying this suspect,” said Constable Tania Visintin.

The victim, a 24-year-old-female, was walking home from shopping along Davie Street when she was allegedly grabbed by the suspect from behind in Maxine Lane on February 13.

Early Thursday morning, investigators arrested a 57-year-old man and will be recommending charges to Crown counsel. He was released on conditions until his court appearance.
