VANCOUVER Police are investigating a violent assault against a woman near the Oakridge Canada Line station last night, and are encouraging people in the area to be vigilant
A woman in her 30s was walking near West 41st Avenue and Ontario Street around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, when she was grabbed from behind by a man she didn’t know. The woman fought the man off and he ran away.
The suspect was last seen heading south on Ontario Street near West 40th Avenue. He is described as having a dark complexion and appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s. He was approximately 5’3” and 170 pounds, with a slim build. He was wearing a loose-fitting black hoodie with the hood up and slim-fitting grey pants
Vancouver Police ask witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam who was in the area bounded by Main Street to Cambie Street, and from West 41st Avenue to West 37th Avenue, at around 7:50 p.m. on October 6, to contact the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0600.
