THE victim in Friday’s early morning assault has died and Vancouver Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Police were called at around 1:30 a.m. August 9 for a 23-year-old man in medical distress near Main and East Hasting streets. Officers provided emergency first aid until paramedics arrived and took the victim to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
