VANCOUVER Police are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred on Friday night in Fairview.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was standing on the south side of West 12th Avenue near Hemlock Street just after 10 p.m. on Friday when it appears he collapsed, fell onto the road, and was struck by an approaching vehicle traveling east on West 12th Avenue.

The driver did not stop and has not been located. The victim died at the collision scene.

VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit is canvassing the neighbourhood for evidence. Witnesses, or anyone with security or dash-cam video, is asked to call 604-717-3012 or email [email protected].
