VANCOUVER Police say that a thief arranged to purchase an e-scooter from a seller on Facebook Marketplace. When they met near Joyce SkyTrain Station at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the 25-year-old suspect jumped on the e-scooter and quickly rode away without paying.

A couple of VPD officers working in the community saw what happened, gave chase, and arrested the suspect riding the e-scooter.

Police say he is now being investigated for at least nine similar thefts.
