VANCOUVER Police on Monday night notified the community that high-risk sex offender Jayson Tootiak has violated his curfew and is now wanted Canada-wide.

Tootiak, 49, is a dangerous offender who was convicted in Ottawa of committing sexual offences against strangers in 2012. He is serving a long-term supervision order and living in a halfway house in the Downtown Eastside.

Tootiak failed for return to the halfway house on Monday night and his whereabouts are unknown.

Tootiak is 5’7 and 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his arms, including a sword on his left forearm and a heart on his right forearm.

Anyone who sees Tootiak or knows his whereabout is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
