ON Tuesday (August 1) at approximately 8 p.m., Surrey RCMP were advised of a three-vehicle collision on 64th Avenue near 127A Street in which one vehicle had overturned and caught fire.
A gray Toyota Forerunner with a 22-year-old male driver of Surrey was westbound on 64th Avenue when it was rear-ended by a Black Chrysler 300 with a 33-year-old male Surrey resident. After impact the Toyota Forerunner went off-road to the right, rolled onto its side and caught fire. The Chrysler 300 continued westbound and collided with a Cadillac Escalade being driven by a 42-year-old female resident of Surrey.
Police officers, Surrey Fire Department and British Columbia Ambulance Service attended the scene. Surrey Fire Department extinguished the fire, and the driver of the Toyota Forerunner was transported to hospital with minor injuries. All drivers remained at the scene for police attendance. The matter is still under investigation. Speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as contributing factors.
