Woman sexually assaulted in Burnaby’s Central Park

ON Sunday, July 27 at 8:52 p.m., Burnaby RCMP responded to a report of a woman who had been sexually assaulted by a man in Central Park.

The victim was walking in the park when an unknown man ran up and inappropriately touched her buttocks and lower back area. The woman, who suffered no physical injuries as a result, was able to get away and report the incident to police.

The suspect ran away after the assault took place.

Burnaby RCMP Victim Services is engaged.

The suspect can be described as:

* possibly white
* 20 to 30 years old
* medium length brown / blonder curly hair

The suspect was wearing:

* dark clothing
* long sleeve shirt / hoody
* baseball hat

“We are encouraging anyone who may have been in the park and witnessed the incident to contact our investigators at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2025-26188,” said Burnaby RCMP Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Laura Hirst.
