10-year-old suffers gunshot wound in Ridge Meadows

RIDGE Meadows RCMP are investigating a firearms injury involving a young Maple Ridge boy.

On Thursday (June 28), at around 3:40 p.m., police received a report of a 10-year-old boy who had suffered a gunshot wound which occurred in the 24000-block of 110th Avenue. The boy was transported to hospital. The scene has been secured by police.

Police said this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
