RICHMOND RCMP’s latest ‘Project Boost and Bust’ operations on March 9 and 21 targeting retail theft resulted in the arrests of numerous individuals and recovery of stolen goods.
Key highlights:
- A total of 19 suspects were arrested. Four suspects were from Richmond while 15 were from other jurisdictions with the majority being from Vancouver.
- Substantial amount of stolen merchandise, valued at over $7,000, was recovered.
- Clothing and electronics were the most sought items.
- The SkyTrain remains the primary method of transportation for criminals. Some attempted departing via ride share.
- Strategic partnerships with businesses such as Lululemon, JD Sports, Aritzia, and BC Liquor were instrumental in the success of these operations.
