BURNABY RCMP are asking for dashcam video and witnesses after an early morning collision on Saturday that has resulted in two fatalities.
On Saturday, December 21 at approximately 4:50 a.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Boundary Road and Forest Street. It was reported that a vehicle travelling northbound on Boundary Road had t-boned another vehicle that was travelling westbound on Forest Street.
Police say they have not yet confirmed all contributing factors in this ongoing investigation.
“Road safety is a responsibility that belongs to everyone that shares the road. In the dark and wet months of winter, visibility is low and road conditions are not ideal. In the past two weeks alone, we have had three significant motor vehicle collisions that have resulted in life-altering injuries and/or death,” said Burnaby RCMP’s Officer in Charge, Chief Superintendent Graham de la Gorgendiere. “Our road safety unit has also taken a significant number of impaired drivers off the road. If we all do our part by slowing down and driving with care we all should get home safely.”
Police are requesting anyone with dashcam video in the area of Boundary Road and Forest Street between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file 2024-44092.
