THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old Langley man and investigators are seeking witnesses with information and dashcam video.

On Monday, October 5, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to reports of a shooting outside the Cactus Club in the 6000-block of 200 Street. Police located a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a business complex. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the Langley man died at the scene.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Langley RCMP received a report of a vehicle fire in the area of 232 Street and 75 Avenue. A burnt sedan was recovered and is believed to have been used in the shooting.

IHIT assumed conduct of the investigation and continues to work in close partnership with Langley RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) and the BC Coroners Service.

While the motivation behind the shooting is still under investigation, preliminary information indicates that this was a targeted incident.

“This investigation is in its early stages, and it is essential for investigators to establish a timeline of events leading up to the shooting,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “A lot of work is underway as we continue an extended canvass for witnesses and video at both the shooting and arson scenes.”

IHIT is seeking witnesses and dashcam video from anyone who was in the area of either scene between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on October 5, 2026.

Anyone with information is urged to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
