SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Saturday.
On January 27 at approximately 1:43 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 13400-block of 105 Avenue. Witnesses described seeing a red Ford Mustang strike a pedestrian and leave the scene without stopping to render assistance. Surrey RCMP were able to quickly locate the vehicle and three occupants are currently in police custody.
Surrey RCMP located the pedestrian several blocks away suffering from severe injuries. BC Ambulance attended, however, the pedestrian was declared deceased at scene.
Police said that alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision. The incident is still in the early investigative stages and police expect road closures in the area of the 13400-block and 105 Avenue. Commuters are being asked to plan alternative routes.
