Fatal pedestrian-involved collision in Surrey’s Newton area

ON December 25 at about 12:33 p.m., Surrey RCMP was advised by Emergency Health Services of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 6700-block of King George Boulevard. The pedestrian succumbed to her injuries. Surrey RCMP investigators are speaking with the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.

The investigation is in its early stages, and Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services have taken conduct of the investigation. They are expected to be in the area for several hours. The southbound lanes of King George Boulevard between 66th Avenue and 68th Avenue have been closed to traffic.

Investigators are seeking witnesses and dash cam video that may show the driving actions of the vehicle prior to the accident.
