Suspect arrested in Cloverdale stabbing that sent one to hospital

ONE person is in custody and another is in hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after an afternoon stabbing in Cloverdale.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) frontline officers responded to a call that a woman had been stabbed by a man near a residence in the 6300-block Sundance Drive.

The victim made her way to a neighbouring house where she received first aid treatment from the neighbour and SPOSU officers. The suspect, who is known to the victim, left the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival. The victim was transported to hospital by BCEHS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was located in Langley and was taken into custody by the Langley RCMP at approximately 2 p.m. without incident. He was transported to Surrey Police Service cells and remains in custody pending further investigation.
