Abbotsford Police have nabbed 341 impaired drivers so far this year

ABBOTSFORD Police say that on Saturday night their patrol officers were kept extremely busy responding to reports of impaired drivers and proactively conducting enforcement to locate them. In just a 12‑hour period overnight, officers removed 11 impaired drivers from Abbotsford roadways.

So far this year, Abbotsford Police have removed 341 impaired drivers from the streets. These numbers are deeply concerning and reflect a continued pattern of poor decision‑making that puts everyone at risk, police say.

“Choosing to drive impaired is not a mistake—it is a deliberate decision with potentially deadly consequences. Despite ongoing enforcement, public education, and tragic reminders, people are still making choices that endanger lives. Driving is a privilege that comes with significant responsibility. Impaired driving destroys families, devastates communities, and results in injuries and deaths that are entirely preventable,” Abbotsford Police said in a post on X on Sunday.

Abbotsford Police say they will continue to actively target impaired drivers through enforcement and proactive patrols. “We urge everyone to plan ahead, use a designated driver, call a taxi or rideshare, or simply do not drive. Making the right choice saves lives,” they add.
