Motorcyclist seriously injured in Abbotsford collision

AT approximately 2:06 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Whatcom Road and South Parallel Road.

Emergency crews arrived to find a motorcycle and an SUV involved in a collision in the intersection. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital. The occupants of the SUV were shaken but not injured.

The investigation remains in its early stages, with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

The intersection of Whatcom Road and South Parallel Road will remain closed for several hours as investigators process the scene. Whatcom Road is closed in both directions between Nelles Road and Highway 1, and South Parallel Road is closed between Cole Road and Angus Campbell Road.
