Abdul Ghafoori wanted in homicide of Himanshi Khurana of Toronto

TORONTO Police say that on Friday, December 19 at approximately 10:41 p.m., they responded to a call for a missing person in the Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West area.

On Saturday, December 20 at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers located the missing female deceased inside a residence. The death was classified as a homicide. Police said the victim and suspect were known to each other.

The victim has been identified as Himanshi Khurana, 30, of Toronto. This is Toronto’s 40th homicide of 2025.

The suspect has been identified as Abdul Ghafoori, 32, of Toronto. He is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder.

The Indian Consulate General in Toronto said in a post on X: “We are deeply saddened and shocked by the murder of Ms. Himanshi Khurana, a young Indian national, in Toronto. We extend our deepest condolences to her bereaved family during this moment of profound grief. The Consulate has been in close touch with the matter over the past few days, and all possible assistance is being extended to the family in close coordination with local authorities.”
