THERE was another shooting in Surrey – this time in the parking lot of Earls Kitchen + Bar at 7236 120th Street on Monday night.
Surrey RCMP said that on June 8 at about 9:08 p.m., police received reports of shots fired in a parking lot in the 7200-block of 120th Street.
Officers recovered evidence confirming shots had been fired. They spoke to witnesses who advised that the suspect vehicle may have been a silver SUV type of vehicle which fled the area immediately after the shooting. Two males, who had been eating at a nearby restaurant, appear to have been the intended targets and fled the area in a blue vehicle before police arrived.
There has been no evidence of injuries and the two males thought to have been targeted have not reported the incident to police. Minor property damage was incurred.
Earls on Twitter said: “In regards to this [Monday] evenings incident at our Surrey location no guests or staff were injured. Minor damage to exterior wall.”
“We will be investigating this matter thoroughly in consultation with our partner agencies,” said Sgt. Dale Carr. “We have recovered a substantial amount of evidence at the scene and believe we will be able to identify some of these people quickly.”
Surrey RCMP said they are very concerned about this incident especially since it occurred in a public area. Serious Crime investigators are sifting through the evidence as well as canvassing the area for more video surveillance and witnesses. This investigation is still in its early stages, however Surrey RCMP believe this incident to be linked to the series of Surrey / Delta shootings that have occurred over the past few months.
Police ask anyone with information on any of the shootings to call the tip line at 604-915-6566 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
