I have to say the 2018 Nissan Armada full-size SUV looks very impressive with its huge size and chrome dipped exterior. With three rows of seats, a passenger capacity of 8 or 7, a powerful V8 engine and huge cargo and towing capacity, the Armada offers ample interior room, performance and family utility. Fresh off a 2017 redesign, the Nissan Armada looks less truck- like and utilitarian than the former generation. It now has a much sleeker, refined air to it. Plenty of chrome trim give it an up-market look. All Armada trims use a 5.6-liter V8 engine with 390 horsepower producing 394 pound-feet of torque paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional. For Canada the 2018 Armada’s trim levels start at the SL, and finishes with the fully loaded Platinum and extra loaded Platinum Reserve. Models offer NissanConnect telematics services, an 8-inch touchscreen display, HD radio, hands-free text messaging, and extra USB charging ports as standard. The SL model at $64,998 arrives with the Bose® Premium Audio System with 13 speakers, Navigation System with 8.0″ touch-screen Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking. The Platinum model starting at $71,498 and adds the SL features, plus Climate-controlled front seats, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Lane Intervention, and Second row rear headrest with 8″ monitor DVD system. The Platinum Reserve model we tested at $74,998 adds: Dark chrome exterior trim: front grille, door handles, and outside mirrors, 20″ dark chrome wheels and a wonderful two-tone leather seats and interior trim with unique stitching.
Interior wise, I could not think of a better way to enjoy a long road trip, our Platinum Reserve model had a roomy, luxury laden interior with all the creature comforts, and convenience features you could want. There was ample room for seven passengers in terms of legroom, shoulder, and head room. On the road, the big Armada is easy and satisfying to drive. Despite its size, the excellent visibility and light steering make piloting the Armada easy. The 5.6-liter V8 engine delivers decent enough acceleration and power smoothly and effortlessly Fuel economy of the Armada is rated at 17.5/12.8 City/Hwy L/100 km and there is an impressive 8,500 lb maximum towing capacity. In short, not much to complain about. Well worth the money for the driving pleasure. Highly recommended for families everywhere.
