Arrest made following break-and-enter at New Westminster local car dealership

ON December 20 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the New Westminster Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a security guard who was monitoring a live video feed of a local car dealership. The suspect had entered the dealership and was observed getting into a vehicle.

When officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot. However, shortly after, he complied with police direction and was arrested without incident.

Crown Counsel has approved break-and-enter charges against 43-year-old Vancouver resident, James Ginther.

“We are recommending both car dealerships and construction sites invest in a monitored security system,” said Sgt. Sanjay Kumar. “Thanks to this foresight, officers were quickly contacted and were able to make a safe arrest.”
