ON Wednesday, September 16 at approximately 2 p.m., New Westminster Police were called to the intersection of 8th Avenue and 8th Street following a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
The rider of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Officers are in the early stages of their investigation and cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The intersection will remain closed while officers work in the area. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash camera footage from the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact police.
