BC United slams government for Kelowna sex offender release (with video)

DURING Question Period in the B.C. Legislature on Tuesday, BC United MLA for Kelowna-Mission, Renee Merrifield, slammed the NDP government over the release of a convicted repeat sex offender into the Kelowna community without adequate warning or supervision, which resulted in the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.

Merrifield called for immediate accountability and consequences, emphasizing the government’s responsibility to prioritize public safety over the rights and privacy of offenders.
