THIS March, Bite of Burnaby returns with its biggest and most flavour-forward festival yet, welcoming locals and visitors to explore Burnaby one bite at a time. With more than 75 participating restaurants, the highest number in the festival’s history, and over 16 curated events, Bite of Burnaby continues to grow as one of Metro Vancouver’s must-visit food festivals.
“Bite of Burnaby has grown into a true celebration of the city’s culinary diversity,” says Chris Peters, CEO of Tourism Burnaby. “Seeing a record number of restaurants participate alongside an expanding lineup of dining experiences speaks to the strength of Burnaby’s food scene and the passion of the chefs, restaurateurs, and partners who make this festival possible.”
Running throughout March, the festival showcases Burnaby’s diverse dining scene through prix-fixe menus, special offers, and a dynamic lineup of ticketed dining experiences designed to connect guests more deeply with chefs, cultures, and culinary traditions.
This year welcomes an exciting mix of new spots joining the festival, including Il Cappello Enoteca, Lee’s Donuts Brentwood, Mulligan’s Japanese Kitchen, Onggi Korean Cuisine, and Dageraad Brewing alongside its resident food truck, Between Two Buns. They join a strong roster of returning favourites, including Hello Nori, Cantaritos Mexican Grill, Portobello Restaurant, Zubu, and Steve’s Poke, with all four Burnaby locations participating.
Now in its second year of immersive dining experiences, Bite of Burnaby builds on the success of past events while introducing new ways to taste, learn, and connect.
Returning by popular demand, A Taste of Japan at Nikkei offers a multi-sensory exploration of Japanese culinary traditions, featuring a traditional tea ceremony, onigiri making, and a guided sake tasting and pairing.
New to the festival this year, Paella Guys joins Bite of Burnaby with a series of Paella Masterclasses led by Chef Javier Blanc, offering a hands-on introduction to Spain’s iconic dish.
For a more relaxed and creative experience, Cookie Therapy with Jenny Bakes invites guests to unwind with a hands-on cookie decorating workshop.
Italian cuisine takes centre stage with Taste of Trattoria, an intimate dining experience at Trattoria by Italian Kitchen, showcasing modern Italian cooking through a curated multi-course menu and select tableside moments.
Her Craft, Her Story, a chef-led dining experience presented by ATLAS steak + fish at Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre, joins the Bite of Burnaby festival lineup and coincides with International Women’s Week, featuring a refined, story-driven menu by award-winning Chef Olya Karpova.
These experiences are part of a broader lineup of 16+ ticketed events taking place throughout the month, offering even more opportunities to explore Burnaby’s culinary scene.
“What makes Bite of Burnaby special is the opportunity to experience the city through food,” Peters adds. “From neighbourhood favourites to chef-led dining experiences, the festival invites people to discover new flavours, support local businesses, and connect around the table.”
With record-breaking participation, a growing slate of immersive events, and flavours from around the world, Bite of Burnaby continues to cement Burnaby’s reputation as a vibrant culinary destination.
