Burnaby RCMP investigating collision involving pedestrian

 

BURNABY RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit and Criminal Collision Investigation Team continued to investigate on Wednesday after a 33-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision involving a transit bus on Tuesday.

On June 11 at 5:45 p.m., RCMP received a report that two males were involved in an altercation near the intersection of Hastings Street and Carleton Avenue in Burnaby. During this altercation one of the males entered the roadway and was struck by a transit bus. How the male entered the roadway is still under investigation with a focus on whether it was as a result of the altercation.

Two males were arrested at the scene, one of whom, a 62-year-old male is still in custody. No charges have been laid at this time. Police are still working to determine if the males were known to each other. The transit bus driver is not under investigation in this incident.
