JUST before 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence in the 7900-block of 15th Avenue. The complainant reported that two men, believed to be carrying weapons, were in the residence.
Police surrounded the home and safely evacuated a female occupant from a suite in the house. The woman had been physically restrained and bound by the suspects, who were believed to still be inside.
The witness describes the suspects as:
Suspect 1:
- Black man
- Short
- Slender build
- Wearing all black clothes
- And a light coloured mask
Suspect 2:
- Black man
- Tall
- Heavy build
- Wearing all black clothes
- And a light coloured mask
The two suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival in a white SUV with the assistance of an unknown driver and passenger.
Suspect 3 (passenger):
- Possibly white
- Tall
- Slender build
- Wearing dark clothing
- And a light coloured mask
Suspect Vehicle:
- White 5 door SUV
- Spare tire on rear door
There is no description for the driver of the vehicle.
The Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, which was called to the scene, entered the residence and confirmed that no one was inside. The female occupant did not sustain any injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking any local residents who saw anything suspicious in the area of the 7900-block of 15th Avenue to contact them.
