Burnaby RCMP looks to locate two suspects, identify a third in $370,000 break-and-enter

BURNABY RCMP are looking to locate two suspects charged in a 2022 break-and-enter. Investigators are also appealing for public assistance in identifying a third unknown person who they believe may have been involved.

On February 12, 2022, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a commercial warehouse on Lowland Drive near Tillicum Street in South Burnaby. It was reported that four full shipping containers, with approximately $370,000 worth of home appliances inside, had been stolen from the property overnight.

Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit, which specializes in robberies and property crime, assumed conduct of the investigation. Along with a stolen semi truck, all four shipping containers were located throughout the Lower Mainland; however, the merchandise was not.

On April 13, 2022, a search warrant was executed on a residence in Surrey and 45-year-old Jamey McIntyre and 33-year-old Ashley Heide were arrested in relation to this investigation. Both suspects were released with future court dates.

On August 10, 2023, charges were approved for both McIntyre and Heide.

McIntyre and Heide each face the following charges:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Break-and-enter
  • Possession of stolen property (two counts)
Jamey McIntyre

McIntyre is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. He is described as 5’8” tall with a medium build and brown hair.

Heide is currently wanted on a BC-wide warrant. She is described as 5’6” tall with a slender build and black hair.

Ashley Heide

Burnaby RCMP investigators are now appealing for information that may help locate McIntyre and Heide.

Burnaby RCMP is also asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a third suspect who is believed to have been involved in the break-and-enter.

The unknown suspect is believed to be a white man, possibly in his thirties. These images were captured shortly after the break-and-enter took place.

“This was a significant break-and-enter involving hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of commercial goods, making it one of the largest break-and-enters Burnaby RCMP investigated in 2022,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP.
