BURNABY RCMP continue to investigate an alleged sexual assault, which took place on February 6 in a Burnaby Park and are now sharing photos and video of the suspect in efforts to identify the man.

On February 6 just after 7:45 p.m., Burnaby frontline officers responded to a report of a sexual assault at Lobley Park. The incident took place in the southwest corner near Grimmer Street and Dunblane Avenue.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking through the park when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man. The suspect put one hand over the victim’s mouth and with the other hand he touched her groin and buttocks.  The woman fought back against the man. He then ran off through the park towards Marlborough Avenue.

Integrated Police Dog Services also attended the park to help locate the man; unfortunately, the suspect was not located.

“We are asking the public to take a close look at these photos and video,” says Cpl. Laura Hirst, Media Relations Officer. “If you know this person or recognize him, we are asking you to call our investigators.”

The male was originally described as wearing all black. The photo shows the male was wearing:
