SURREY RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a robbery suspect from an incident that occurred in January.
On January 26, at 5:20 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a robbery at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) located in the 13600-block of 72nd Avenue in the Newton area. The male suspect allegedly assaulted a man who had just withdrawn funds from the ATM and stole the cash.
The suspect is described as a South Asian man, approximately 35 years old, with a trimmed beard, and muscular build. The suspect was wearing a blue and white jacket, and has a large tattoo on his left shoulder (see photos).
“We are asking for your help in identifying this individual so that we can further our investigation,” said Cpl. Steve Lachapelle, Surrey RCMP Robbery Unit, on Thursday. “We are very grateful for the valuable information supplied by the public in other recent investigations, and are hoping that someone will recognize this suspect.”
