Man charged in Vancouver homicide

VANCOUVER Police have arrested a Vancouver man for murder after the discovery of a body in a Downtown Eastside apartment on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to a residence on Princess Avenue near Alexander Street at around 3 p.m. on August 28 after the discovery of a dead man. The man’s death was treated as suspicious and detectives from the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section took over the investigation.

Officers quickly identified and arrested a suspect in the case. Thirty-four-year-old Randall Whitworth Hill has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and remains in custody.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Vancouver resident Roscoe Henry Carmack.

This is Vancouver’s 13th homicide of 2017.
