THE expansion of Lark Group’s Health and Technology District is progressing at an accelerated pace with the groundbreaking of its City Centre 3 building on Friday, right on the heels of opening City Centre 2 earlier this year.
With the recent launch of Fraser Health’s Surrey Urgent Primary Care clinic at the District, and the announcement of Safe Software as the anchor tenant and Regent Christian Academy adding a new campus at City Centre 2, the momentum at the Health and Technology District continues to build at an exciting rate.
“We purposely built the Health and Technology District, starting with City Centre 1, directly across from one of Canada’s busiest hospitals at Surrey Memorial Hospital, so that we can attract edge-thinking companies to help innovate and transform the healthcare space in the region,” says Larry Fisher, President of Lark Group. “We have seen many breakthroughs from companies located within the District and we are well positioned to see more at City Centre 3.”
The Lark Group developed the Health and Technology District in anticipation of the rapidly growing health and technology sector in B.C. The District attracts a large number of like-minded health, education and technology based organizations and professionals that are focused on innovation and BC’s emerging technology economy.
The high profile community is home to networks of academics, entrepreneurs, multinational and start-up companies, and some of the most advanced digital health, wellness, technology, and clinical service organizations.

City Centre 3 is a 130,000 square-foot, 10-storey LEED Gold certified building with street-level retail space and rooftop terrace. It is the third building in a series of up to eight high tech buildings. Upon completion, the overall District will consist of over 1.5 million square-feet and estimates over 15,000 jobs, and will contribute over $1.1 billion annually into B.C.’s economy.
“We have a number of new company announcements coming up in the New Year that will be bringing new healthcare solutions directly to patients, including the new Surrey Neuroplasticity Clinic that will treat traumatic brain injuries with the most state of the art treatments and disruptive technologies,” states Fisher. “We are not only changing landscapes, we are changing lives.”
