THE City of Abbotsford has issued an evacuation order for the following areas:

• Sumas Prairie: UPDATE: Sumas Mountain, DeLair Road, and Old Yale Road to the North, the United States Border to the South, Chilliwack City border to the East, the Ridge West of Railway to the West

• Straiton Area:

Evacuation Alerts

Evacuation Alerts have been issued by the City of Abbotsford Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) for the following areas:

• Sumas Prairie: 
  • The Southern Rail Line to the West, Whatcom Road to the East, Highway 1 to the North, United States Border to the South
  • Westside of Sumas Way to West of Riverside Road, East of Sumas River Dyke to Boundary Road
  • Westside of Whatcom Road, East of Huntington Village, Southside of Vye Road
• Clayburn Area: Clayburn Village and surrounding area
• Eagle Mountain Areas: Cranberry Court, Briarwood Place, Doneagle Place
• Ten Oaks: Mount Blanchard Court, Mount Blanchard Drive and Old Clayburn Road
• Straiton Areas: Dawson Road East of Sumas Mountain Road
• Matsqui Village: Grace Road North to the Matsqui Slough 

Call 911 to report any flooding or mudslide emergencies.

Sandbags: Abbotsford residents requiring sand and sandbags can go to the City of Abbotsford Works Yard located at 31739 King Road. Sand and bags are located outside the main gates. Bring a shovel with you to fill the bags.

Reception Centres for Displaced Residents

The City of Abbotsford’s Emergency Support Services (ESS) has changed the location of the reception centres and they are now located at:

• Option # 1:Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre (Tradex) located at 1190 Cornell Street
• Option # 2:Chilliwack Senior Secondary located at 46363 Yale Road, Chilliwack

If you are unable to return home or have been evacuated from your home you can go to either of the reception centres for assistance and shelter.

Any evacuees with questions can call the Public Information Line at 604-864-5688 where staff are available to address questions. If you need access to services, the City asks that you visit a reception centre near you.
